Real-time face swap.

This is an technical demo for real-time face swapping technique.

Using a code mashup of Jason Saragih's facetracker and Kevin Atkinson's image clone code, Barcelona-based programmer Arturo Castro shows us the first steps toward easy video chat face masking that is far more convincing than you might think. In just one quick session Castro puts on the faces of Paris Hilton, Fidel Castro, Steve Jobs, Vladimir Lenin, Marilyn Monroe, Andy Warhol, Mao Tse-tung, Brad Pitt, Michael Jackson, Salvador Dali and of course President Barack Obama.

This was one of those surprises that left me speechless. I haven't taken a picture of the birthday note because of its NSFW nature(!).

Ipsa and Oneris have upped their birthday-surprise-gift-giving-jaw-dropping bar and I sure as hell will respond in kind :)

World's Steepest Roller Coaster is in Japan

Steepest_rollercoaster

Set in the shadow of Mount Fuji, Takabisha features seven twists, blackened tunnels and a breathtaking 141 ft vertical freefall at 121 degrees, making it officially the steepest in the world. Riders experience weightlessness as they nosedive down the sharp incline, before later being plunged into darkness. Speeds reach up to 62 mph (100 kmph) and the ride lasts for just 112 seconds over nearly two miles of track.

Takabisha cost a whopping $40 million to build and will cost $11.75 (Y1000) to ride, excluding park admission fees.
